The Hall family has been part of the horticultural fabric of the Monterey Bay area for nearly half a century. From Carmel gardens to Pebble Beach estates, Hall Landscape Design is built on a foundation of knowledge, craft, and care.
SCOTT HALL
Scott Hall, co-founder of Hall Landscape Design, brings a rare pragmatism to design. With years in the field as a builder and licensed contractor before earning his degree in Landscape Architecture from UC Davis, Scott designs landscapes that don’t just look beautiful on paper — they work. His hands-on background informs every detail, ensuring plans are not only visionary but also buildable, enduring, and true to place.
BRYCE HALL
Raised on the Monterey Peninsula and educated at UC San Diego, Bryce Hall represents the next generation of leadership. He began his career in stewardship with the Big Sur Land Trust, managing natural lands before turning his attention to the intimate scale of estate gardens. A licensed landscape contractor and certified landscape irrigation water auditor, Bryce combines technical expertise with a background in customer service to deliver ultra-custom landscapes. Today he leads operations with a focus on construction, irrigation, and horticultural care — ensuring every estate or garden is built and stewarded to the highest standard.
FAMILY LEGACY
The Hall name has long been interwoven into the region’s horticultural history. Brothers Scott and Cameron established Hall Landscape Design, blending licensed design and construction into one seamless practice. Their brother Brett carried the Hall tradition into the academic and botanical world — working with renowned horticulturalist Ray Collett on plant collecting expeditions across California, Australia, and New Zealand, and later serving as Director of the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum. Together, their paths shaped a family legacy that continues to influence landscapes across the Monterey Peninsula.
OUR STORY IN SHORT
From growing up among the gardens and wildlands of the Central Coast, to studying and working across California and beyond, the Hall family has always come back to one place: the Monterey Peninsula. It’s here that knowledge, craft, and care converge — in landscapes built with intention, precision, and endurance.
